When the House approved the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008,
included was tax incentives for manufacturers of high efficiency appliances.
As manufacturers continue to receive incentives to produce these appliances,
the cost savings will also be passed on to consumers.

A great place to start looking for major appliances that meet the energy
efficiency ratings is at Energy Star and American Council for an Energy
Efficient Economy.
